HEAD OF INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS

The Head of Internal Communications is responsible for developing and implementing effective internal communication strategies that enhance employee engagement, foster a positive corporate culture, and align with the company’s overall objectives. This role involves managing internal communications across various platforms, creating compelling content, and ensuring consistent messaging that reflects the company’s values and goals.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop strategic internal communication plans aligned with the organization's goals, values, and culture to foster employee engagement, alignment, and retention.
  • Create high-quality content for internal communication channels, including intranet, newsletters, emails, presentations, videos. speeches for senior leaders, and marketing collateral, to engage and inform target audiences.
  • Implement initiatives to boost employee morale, motivation, and satisfaction, such as recognition programs, employee appreciation events, and wellness initiatives.
  • Promote and reinforce the organization's brand identity, values, and culture internally through consistent messaging, visual branding, and storytelling.
  • Support organizational change initiatives by effectively communicating changes, updates, and reasons behind them to employees, facilitating buy-in and minimizing resistance.
  • Assist senior leaders and executives in communicating with employees by providing guidance on messaging, channels, and timing to ensure transparency, clarity, and alignment.
  • Create engaging and informative content for internal communication channels, including newsletters, intranet articles, videos, and presentations, to keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Organize internal events, such as town hall meetings, team-building activities, and training sessions, to facilitate open communication, collaboration, and knowledge sharing among employees.
  • Establish mechanisms for collecting feedback from employees, such as surveys, focus groups, and suggestion boxes, and analyse the data to identify trends, concerns, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans to effectively communicate with employees during times of crisis or emergency, providing timely updates, reassurance, and guidance.
  • Leverage internal communication technologies, such as intranet platforms, collaboration tools, and mobile apps, to facilitate seamless communication and information sharing among employees.
  • Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of internal communication efforts, track engagement levels, and assess the impact on employee satisfaction and organizational performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, IT, and corporate leadership, to align internal communication initiatives with organizational objectives and priorities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support internal communication goals and objectives.
  • Ensure all internal marketing communication activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, industry standards, and ethical guidelines, such as data privacy regulations and advertising codes of conduct.
  • Develop initiatives to boost employee morale, motivation, and satisfaction through recognition programs, employee appreciation events, and wellness initiatives.


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.

 Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or corporate communications roles, within the hospitality industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful internal communication strategies and initiatives.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft clear and compelling messages for various internal communication channels and audiences.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop effective communication plans and address complex organizational challenges.
  •  Excellent organizational and project management skills to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple initiatives simultaneously, often within tight deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools and technologies, including intranet platforms, email marketing software, social media platforms, and collaboration tools.
  • Ability to measure the effectiveness of internal communication efforts, track key performance indicators, and leverage data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Preferred knowledge of change management principles and practices, including strategies for effectively communicating organizational change to employees.
  • Knowledge of branding, marketing, and advertising principles to ensure consistency in messaging and branding across internal communication channels.
  • Familiarity with employee engagement theories and techniques for boosting employee morale, motivation, and satisfaction.
